1970’s Horror
Many of the
greatest horrors were produced in the 1970’s eerier. Here are some of the
films:
- . The Exorcist
- · Jaws
- · Texas Chain Saw Massacre
- · Carrie
- · Halloween
- · Carrie
- · The omen
- · Suspiria
- · The Wicker man
Most of
these horror movies from the 1970’s seem to have a reflection of the gory mood.
Society after the 1960’s came to a downfall, which is when horror came a
massive success. A consistent fear of the 1970’s horror was children, as well
as painful and fatal horror. A lot of negative impacts from society occurred,
which is when horror quality improved, with new interesting, terrifying ideas
came into place. A lot of these issues were used into context and a lot of
psychological fears were being abused to increase the amount of horror filled scenarios.
A popular theme in the 1970’s was the fear and terrifiance of children, in addition to the painful, gory and vile deaths and torture. The exorcist still to this day is one of the most memorable and scariest horror. The ‘unhumon features’ of the possessed girl bring intense horror, like the 360 rotation of her head, and the unconfutable crab walk walking down the stairs. Occasional searing and aggression is also an impact in making horror films more frightening to view. In October 1999, the exorcist was announced by 'Total film magazine' as the scariest film ever!

Your presentation indicates that you carried out a 'basic' level of research into 1970s horror films. You have used images in your presentation of information but I would have preferred you to use a presentation tool such as Prezi.
ReplyDeleteA real weakness in your presentation of information is the quality of your written expression. It is very important that you take time and care to present work on your blog and, unfortunately, you have not done this here.
Can I ask how much time you spent on proof-reading your work after completion? How do you go about checking your work for technical accuracy before it is submitted? If you do not do this, can you see why it is important to do so?
i was unsure on how to use prezi, but will have a mess about on it and learn the features of how to use it in the future.
DeleteI will take more care in how i present my work to make it look better and presentable.
I only proof read my work once and looked through it a couple of times as i was writing this. I could use spell check in the future or ask a friend to look through my work to see if it is good enough to post on my blog. I can now see why it is important to check for technical mistakes because with multiple mistakes it will make it look less presentable and look as if i rushed the work to get it over and done with.
You have suggested good strategies for checking through your work Jamie.
DeleteI have been impressed with your attitude and application at the start of this course and look forward to seeing you develop as a media studies student. Your challenge will be to be as focussed on written and reading tasks as you are on those that are more technical in their nature.
